What is the Qur’an?

The Qur’an is the word of Allah, the recitation of which is an act of worship. He actually spoke it as it is, with its letters and sounds which Jibreel heard from Him and then conveyed to the Prophet Muhammad.Similarly, all divinely revealed books are the words of Allah.

When we say this, we of course mean the actual Books that were revealed from Allah such as the original Torah, Zaboor (Psalms), Injeel (Gospel) and not the corrupted scriptures existent now. The Qur'an has been protected from any tampering and corruptions, and it remains in its original pure form as revealed by Allah to the Angel Gabriel, who transmitted it to the Prophet Muhammad
